Meet Skye, the youngest member of the Moosic Borough Police Department. Appropriately referred to as “Canine Skye, at two and one half years old, Skye is a Belgian Malinois certified in Narcotics Odor Recognition, Tracking and Suspect Apprehension. Skye understands Dutch, German and English commands.

The cost of a police force acquiring the considerable advantage of a canine office adds up quickly and some areas of those costs are ongoing. The initial purchase of the animal, training costs, housing and food costs, regular veterinary care and of course all of Skye’s necessary gear can accumulate rapidly.
